Working for Colorado Eye Center with 4 locations and 8 Doctors, smaller locations like Dr. James Simonson in the Denver area, Flatiron Vision in Westminster, and Vision Eyeland of Fort Collins. As well as large Corporations like Luxottica/ LensCrafters with locations worldwide. This field includes but not limited to medical, office and retail. This unique industry has taught me a variety of skills. They ranging from medical testing, research, billing and office activities to customer service and sales. Optical Testing The strength of my testing experience is due to the broad rolls and duties over the years. Some of these duties involve operating pre-testing instruments like a Non Contact Tonometer, Automatic refractor equipment, Corneal Topographer, Optomap Technology, visual field testing and Diopsis which tests the brain and nerve functions. Other duties include cataract post-ops, lasik post-ops, visual acuities, EOM, pupil response, blood pressure and many others. Medical Billing Another aspect of my office duties includes everyday patient/customer sales transactions, insurance billing for glasses, contact lenses and exams, pre-authorizations and even collection billing. At Lens Crafters, in addition to my sales, I was responsible for insurance bill for all transactions of my store and also trained other store in organization and billing. The internet proved valuable in locating patients and collection debts, which is another one of my responsibilities there. Community Activities Currently I am active in the community doing volunteer work include collecting toys for the Children’s Hospital for the annual Children’s Toy Run, The Burn Camp Run and the Firefighter Calendar event to collect money for Fired-Up For Kids and The Children’s Hospital Burn Center. I also over saw the activities for One Sight (formerly The Gift of Sight Program) which collects glasses for Mission work, and distributes free glasses and exams for underprivileged people in the community. My work resulted in the reintroduction of the Gift Of Sight program in Boulder. This included developing relationships with other charitable organizations in the community and planning and hosting many events that resulted in free glasses and exams for hundreds of people.
